Physical therapy keeps Airmen fit to fight

Staff Sgt. David Garcia, the 379th Expeditionary Medical Group NCOIC of the physical therapy clinic at an air base in Southwest Asia, performs isometric muscle strengthening Feb. 19 on a patient who sprained his ankle. The physical therapists concentrate on injuries involving ankles, knees, hips, back and neck and work to get warfighters back on the job as soon as safely possible. They also travel around the base talking to individuals and groups about ways to prevent injuries. Sergeant Garcia is deployed from Andrews Air Force Base, Md. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Andrew Satran)
