Energy conservation at Charleston AFB, S.C.
Johnny Radcliffe wipes down the copper pipes Feb. 18 to cool and set the soldering for a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system being installed at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. Currently, there are four HVAC installation projects taking place at facilities where outdated, inefficient heating and cooling equipment is being replaced with new, energy-efficient equipment and controls to help the base conserve energy. Mr. Radcliffe is a foreman for a local plumbing contractor. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Katie Gieratz)
