FARALLONS BATTERY MISSION
Tech. Sgt. Christopher Gabor (left) and Chief Master Sgt. Rich Nowaski prepare new photovoltaic batteries Feb. 17 for sling transport by helicopter to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service research facility on Farallon Island, which sits about 30 miles west of San Francisco. Aircrews and helicopters from the California Air National Guard's 129th Rescue Wing at Moffett Federal Airfield, Calif., are supporting the FWS by transporting the batteries to power a lighthouse and workshop at the facility. The two NCOs are HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter flight engineers with the 129th RQW. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Ray Aquino)
