FARALLONS BATTERY MISSION
Two HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters from the California Air National Guard's 129th Rescue Wing at Moffett Federal Airfield, Calif., sit on a helipad on Farallon Island Feb. 17 waiting for the aircrews to load old photovoltaic batteries after fresh batteries were delivered. Airmen from the unit are assisting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by helping to swap the batteries that power a lighthouse and workshop at the FWS research facility on the island, which sits some 30 miles west of San Francisco.
