FARALLONS BATTERY MISSION
Staff Sgt. Joseph Kenney serves as a spotter to maintain flight safety as his HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter prepares to land Feb. 17 on a helipad on the Farallon Island, which sits some 30 miles west of San Francisco. The helicopter and its crew, from the California Air National Guard's 129th Rescue Wing at Moffett Federal Airfield, Calif., are supporting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by helping transport new photovoltaic batteries to power a lighthouse and workshop at the FWS research facility on the island. Sergeant Kenny is an HH-60G flight engineer with the 129th RQW. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Ray Aquino)
