FARALLONS BATTERY MISSION
Staff Sgt. Andrew Hedin, flying in an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter, observes another Pave Hawk over Farallon Island, which sits some 30 miles west of San Francisco. The helicopters and their crews, from the California Air National Guard's 129th Rescue Wing at Moffett Federal Airfield, Calif., are supporting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by helping transport new photovoltaic batteries to power a lighthouse and workshop at the FWS research facility on the island.
