Wounded Warrior: Air Force family helps Purple Heart recipient, wife
Annette Slaydon adjusts her husband's uniform prior to renewing their marriage vows April 12 at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. Staff Sgt. Matthew Slaydon was critically wounded by a terrorist bomb in Iraq in October 2007 -- losing his sight, one arm, and suffering multiple facial lacerations and fractures. In addition to Mrs. Slaydon's support to her husband, the Air Force has helped the couple in many ways since Sergeant Slaydon was wounded. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Matthew Hannen)
