Capt. Jason Aftanas inspects a brick for the wall of a tashnab (bathroom) at the Pukh High School construction site April 1 in Panjshir, Afghanistan. The school will be a two-story, 16-room reinforced concrete structure that will accommodate up to 3,000 students. Captain Aftanas is a Panjshir Provincial Reconstruction Team engineer. Air Force engineers are outside the wire every day conducting site assessments, quality control missions and preparing the province to respond to natural disasters. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt.
