Worst case scenario

An Army emergency responder fills out a medical card used to label a patient's current state during a mass casualty battle drill March 31 at Balad Air Base, Iraq. During the drill, Chief Master Sgt. Kristine Mullaney of the 332nd Expeditionary Mission Support Group Det. 1 Mayor Cell was marked deceased due to extensive simulated wounds. Patient triage is an important part of responding to a mass casualty. Triaging patients involves identifying those whose wounds require immediate or delayed treatment. Chief Mullaney is deployed from the Kentucky Air National Guard. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Senior Airman Julianne Showalter)
