Cementing Balad, Anaconda hospital in history
Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Barry pressure sprays excess dirt from the bottom of a section of floor from the original Air Force Theater Hospital March 1 at Balad Air Base, Iraq. The floor section is being cleaned prior to transporting to the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Washington. The origianl hopital has earned the recognition of being the location where the most lives were lost and saved in the Iraq theater of operations. Sergeant Barry is a 332nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron heating, ventilation and air conditioning technician deployed from Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. (U.S. Air Force photo/Maj. Scott Bryant)
