Air Force reaps dividends from scanning electron microscope
Judith Freer positions the MIRA X scanning electron microscope for an F108 stage four vane assembly March 28 at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. The 5-foot-by-5-foot-by 5-foot internal capacity qualifies Tinker AFB's new addition as the largest-known scanning electron microscope in the world, according to Metallurgical Analysis Laboratory staff. Ms. Freer is a materials engineering technician with 30 years experience. (U.S. Air Force photo/Margo Wright)
