Coalition maintainers keep C-130 in the fight
Japanese Senior Airman Yuta Kawahara (left) and Staff Sgt. Ray Pontemayor open a panel on an engine of a Japan Air Self-Defense Force C-130 Hercules March 21 at a Southwest Asian air base. Airmen from the U.S., Japan Air Self-Defense Force and South Korean air force's 58th Airlift Wing participated in a coalition maintenance exchange program allowing maintainers to sharpen their skills, exchange ideas and promote closer relations among coalition air forces supporting the war on terrorism. Airman Kawahara is a maintainer from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Iraq Reconstruction Support Airlift Wing, and Sergeant Pontemayor is a maintainer deployed to the 386th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
