Battle drills condition emergency responders

Airman 1st Class Nathan Milliman helps Senior Airman Krista McVicar put on a protection suit before responding to a mysterious substance scenerio during a battle drill March 26 at Balad Air Base, Iraq. The suits can be worn for up to one hour; Airmen must work diligently to ensure they don't become exhausted or too warm when wearing the suits. The suits provide emergency managers with protection from chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear substances. Both Airmen are 332nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron emergency managers. Airman Milliman is deployed from Hurlburt Field, Fla.; Airman McVicar is deployed from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Julianne Showalter)
