The medical tool sterilization process is conducted in two steps as tools are first placed in an ultrasonic bath and then are wrapped and placed in the sterilizer March 19 at Balad Air Base, Iraq. The 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group runs the Air Force Theater Hospital at Balad AB and provides a wide range of medical services to Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines throughout the Iraqi theater of operations. The hospital is the equivalent of a level one trauma center with more than 1,200 patients are seen by medical personnel each month, of which more than 650 are trauma cases.
