Senior Airman Frances Gavalis and Staff Sgt. Candice Zalewski toss unserviceable uniform items into a burn pit March 10 at Balad Air Base, Iraq. Burning uniform items is done to ensure opposing forces do not obtain them. Airman Gavalis is deployed from Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., and Sergeant Zalewski is deployed from Luke AFB, Ariz.
