Fuel quality

Staff Sgt. Ronald Gasper conducts a flash point test Dec. 8 at an air base in Southwest Asia. The flash point test is used to determine the temperature at which the fuel will ignite. The fuel is slowly warmed and every 2 degrees an ignition coil is briefly exposed over the fuel to identify how hot the fumes must be to ignite. Sergeant Gasper is a fuels lab technician assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron and deployed from Scott Air Force Base, Ill. He is a native of Omaha, Neb.
