Senior Airman Samantha Brunner flushes air out of intravenous tubing Nov. 27 at the Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility on Joint Base Balad, Iraq. Occlusions, or air bubbles, can enter a patient's vein and cause cardiac arrest. Airman Brunner, an aerospace medical service journeyman with the 332nd Expeditionary Aerospace Medical Squadron and native of Washington, Pa., is deployed from the 911th Airlift Wing at Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pa.
