Lackland medical center labs receive 2-year accreditation
Andres Barrerea prepares Army Capt. (Dr.) Sam Grindstaff to donate platelets at the cellular therapy/apheresis clinic Nov. 26 at San Antonio Military Medical Center-South. The department was one of the areas inspected during a recent AABB visit. Platelet donations, like blood, are always needed, especially during the holiday season. Captain Grindstaff is a first-time donor and a pathology resident from San Antonio Military Medical Center-North, formerly known as the Brooke Army Medical Center. Mr. Barrerea is a medical lab technician with the 59th Laboratory Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Kimberly A. Yearyean-Siers)
