Football: Opportunistic Falcons topple New Mexico
The Air Force rushing attack unfolds with Falcon lineman taking out defenders as freshman quarterback Tim Jefferson looks to handoff to one of his backs coming out of the Power-I formation, and with fullback Todd Newell working as a lead blocker. Going into the Oct. 23 game against New Mexico, the Air Force rushing attack was third in the nation, averaging 300.4 yards per game. Jefferson led the run-heavy Falcons offense to 227 yards rushing and a 1-yard touchdown pass in a 23-10 win over New Mexico Oct. 23 at Falcon Stadium in Colorado. (U.S. Air Force photo/Dave Armer)
