Dover Airman donates kidney to fiance
Staff Sgt. Mark Shortt displays the takes 15 medications he takes six times a day at his home in Dover, Del. He underwent a kidney transplant Sept. 22 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. In 2006, he'd contracted a viral antibody, which attacked both his kidneys leading to their failure in August 2007. Now that he's had the transplant, he is off dialysis but must take medication for the rest of his life.
