Emergency repairs
Tech. Sgt. James Thomas and Airman 1st Class Jonathan Church shovel dirt and rock away from the base of a broken water main Sept. 15 at a Southwest Asia air base. Shovels are used for the close in work of clearing dirt and rock from the section of pipe, so work can begin on water restoration procedures here. The engineers work to restore water after the overnight pipe break caused a shut down of water for the entire Blatchford-Preston Complex. Sergeant Thomas hails from Atlanta and is deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. Airman Church is a native of Gloucester, Mass., and is deployed from McGuire AFB, N.J. Both are assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Michael Boquette)
