Travis, California firefighters extinguish blaze
An eight-alarm fire destroyed 167 unoccupied housing units and damaged 11 more Aug. 16 at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Travis AFB emergency personnel, with help from local firefighting and police agencies, contained the fire before it spread to any occupied housing on the base.
