First Lt Rob Hansen beat a bout of Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer during training, graduate and get awarded the F-22 Raptor. He spent 16 months fighting to get back in the program after his diagnosis. Upon graduating as a distinguished graduate for scoring in the top 10 percent of the class, he was awarded the Daedalian Award for top formation pilot; the Flying Excellence award for the top overall flying score, and the commander’s trophy for being the top graduate.
