Staff Sgt. Barricia McCormick Georgia Air National Guard, reviews legal cases during a drill weekend Feb. 8, 2014, at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. McCormick, who comes from a long line of family members who have served in the armed forces dating back to World War I, is related to Harriet Ross Tubman, the African-American abolitionist and humanitarian responsible for the rescue of more than 300 slaves through the underground railroad.
