Staff Sgt. Madut Bul was labeled a 'Lost Boy of Sudan' by the United Nations as a teenager. A Sudan native, Bul trekked more than 1,000 miles on foot along with roughly 30,000 other children in the early 1990s to escape the destruction and mayhem of civil war. Despite the horrors he witnessed, Bul joined the U.S. Air Force approximately eight years ago, and now shares his story to be an inspiration and testament to resilience.
