Senior Airman Christian McDevitt leads a cargo loader to a C-130-J Super Hercules prior to a mission in support of the Ebola virus epidemic, Oct. 7, 2014, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As the Ebola outbreak becomes a potential global threat, U.S. Africa Command is working in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development, the lead federal agency, as part of a comprehensive U.S. government effort to respond to and contain the outbreak of the Ebola virus in West Africa as quickly as possible. This was the first C-130J flight launched from Ramstein AB to Monrovia, Liberia in support of Operation United Assistance. McDevitt is a load master with the 37th Airlift Squadron.
