A special great-granddaughter learns about Seymour Johnson: the man and the base

Col. Mark Slocum looks at the yearbook of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base’s namesake, Navy Lt. Seymour Johnson, with Jaime Thompson Oct. 17, 2014, at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C. Slocum is the 4th Fighter Wing commander and Thompson is Seymour Johnson’s great-granddaughter. During her visit, Thompson familiarized herself with her great-grandfather’s and the base’s history.
