USAFE Band joins Belarus, Russia in WWII Victory Day Parade
An Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus soldier provides an honor guard as 34 Airmen from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band march in the World War II Victory Day Parade May 9, 2015, in Minsk, Belarus. The band's involvement is the first time in Belarus' history that participants from the U.S. Defense Department marched in the parade. The event commemorated the sacrifices of the World War II Allies and the end of hostilities 70 years ago. In addition to their participation in the Victory Day parade, which included more than 5,000 Belarusian soldiers and 250 military vehicles, the USAFE bandsmen performed in concerts in Brest and Minsk, Belarus.
