Prisoners of war await their release in January 1973, at the end of the Vietnam War. Spike Nasmyth (center), then a second lieutenant and an F-4 Phantom II pilot, was shot down by a Vietnamese surface-to-air missile Sept. 4, 1966. He was kept prisoner for 2,355 days.
