Master Sgt. Stephen Nelson, a 435th Contingency Response Group air traffic controller, uses a kestrel to obtain wind speeds and direction during Aviation Detachment 16-1 Oct. 27, 2015, at Powdiz Air Base, Poland. During the flying training deployment, U.S. and Polish airmen worked together to relay weather data to their aircrews to ensure they had the most accurate information prior to airdropping container delivery systems.
