A boom operator assigned to the 28th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron operates a boom to provide fuel to U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptors during an aerial refueling mission in support of Operation Inherent Resolve over Iraq, July 6, 2018. The KC-135 provides aerial refueling to U.S. and coalition forces in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Resolute Support. Air refueling is a vital component of flying operations, allowing the F-22 to stay airborne longer and support U.S. and coalition forces in the air and on the ground.
