Twenty-four C-17 Globemaster IIIs fly together during a mission generation exercise at Charleston, S.C., Jan. 5, 2023. The formation took flight from JB Charleston to fly over the Arthur Ravenal Jr. Bridge before splitting into four smaller formations to rehearse flexible and deterrent response options, like the ability to land in austere environments and quickly accomplish a variety of mission sets, which is valuable to Mobility guardian 23 in that it allows Airmen from across Air Mobility Command to enhance readiness alongside six allies and partners through testing agile combat employment, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief capabilities in contested, degraded and operationally limited environments spanning over 3,000 miles.
