In a deployed environment, where stress levels are through the roof, hospitality can mean everything to a patient who is recovering from a gunshot wound or was caught in a roadside bomb blast.

  • Second runway increases Bagram capability

    After months of planning and construction, the wing expanded its ability to support flying missions throughout the region with the addition of a second operational runway. The ancillary runway provides an alternate site for aircraft taking off and landing should the primary runway be damaged or closed.

    Four 455th Air Expeditionary Wing Airmen received New Year's Eve phone calls from the Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James. The secretary wished them a happy new year and wanted to let the Airmen know the Air Force leadership team was thinking of all the deployed Airmen and their families during the holidays.

    The United States gave Capt. Dimple Nolly's parents a chance to provide a better life for their family once they immigrated from India to America. "Although my parents faced adversity, they remained focused on their goal, which ultimately inspired me to always pursue the best, do my best and push for the best," the Houston native said. "I joined the Air Force so I could give back to the greatest nation on Earth that has provided so much for my family and asked for nothing in return."
