AFIMSC Det. 4, AFCEC upgrade infrastructure at Air Base Campia Turzii, Romania
The Air Force Civil Engineer Center and the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center's Detachment 4 are leading $152 million construction projects to upgrade infrastructure at Air Base Campia Turzii, Romania, in support of NATO operations.
31st OG Conducts Operation Porcupine 2021
Operation Porcupine is an annual exercise that tests the capability of the different squadrons inside the 31st OG and their ability to work together.
MQ-9 begins flying missions from Romania
The MQ-9 weapon system is continuously evolving to nest within Air Force initiatives to operate in and from contested environments against near-peer adversaries.
MQ-9s execute new mission in Romania
Among those Airmen are MQ-9 maintainers and launch and recovery aircrew from the 31st Expeditionary Operations Group, Detachment 1, who support Agile Combat Employment concepts, fly freedom of maneuver missions and integrate with joint and coalition forces in the region.

Ellsworth Air Force Base B-1 Lancers provided escort and combat patrol during a long-range, long duration Dynamic Force Employment mission throughout Europe and the Black Sea region spanning more than 29 hours and over 12,200 nautical miles.
52nd FW conducts CFE treaty exercise
Airmen escorted an exercise inspection team from Romania, members of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and members of the German Verification Agency for an inspection of facilities throughout the installation.

815th Airlift Squadron delivers during Swift Response '19
For exercise Swift Response '19, military members across two continents work as a team to conduct training to increase the participating nations’ readiness, capabilities and capacity to conduct full-spectrum military operations. They use combined training which fosters trust, increases interoperability and enables allies to readily and effectively respond to regional crises and meet their own national defense goals.
100th space sharing agreement signed, Romania Space Agency joins
U.S. Strategic Command reached a milestone with the signing of its 100th space situational awareness agreement when the Romanian Space Agency signed an agreement with USSTRATCOM April 25. These agreements foster openness, predictability of space operations and transparency in space activities.
Vigorous Warrior 19 ensures readiness, strong partnerships for US Air Force medics
Beginning April 3, approximately 50 Airmen from the 86th Medical Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, worked with over 2,500 military personnel from 39 NATO and partner countries to improve interoperability and readiness in a simulated Article 5 combat scenario.

Approximately 50 Airmen from the 86th Medical Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, arrived April 3 at Cincu Military Base, Romania, to participate in the NATO-led medical exercise Vigorous Warrior 19.

SNCO Academy holds first-ever mobile training course in Romania
Three instructors from the U.S. Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy traveled to Boboc Air Base, Buzău, Romania, to hold the first ever Senior NCO mobile education course June 8-22, 2018.
US KC-135 completes first refueling mission with Romanian F-16
History was made when the U.S. Air Force and Romanian Air Force made their first air refueling contact Feb. 28, 2017, over Romania. With the help of the U.S. Air Force’s 100th Air Refueling Wing and one of their KC-135 Stratotankers, the Romanian Air Force became certified to refuel from all U.S. KC-135s, strengthening their partnerships and regional stability.

Thousands of Romanian and European spectators marveled at aerial acrobatics in the skies and combat capability displays on the ground during an air show and open house at Campia Turzii, Romania, July 23.
Ramstein airlift squadron kicks off exercise in Romania
The 37th Airlift Squadron from Ramstein Air Base, Germany, kicked off exercise Carpathian Summer 2016 on May 9 at Otopeni AB, Romania. The 11-day, off-station training is a bilateral exercise to enhance interoperability and readiness with Romania by conducting combined air operations.
F-22 Raptors arrive in Romania
Two F-22 Raptors and one KC-135 Stratotanker arrived at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Romania, on April 22. The F-22s and approximately 20 supporting Airmen are from the 95th Fighter Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The KC-135 is from the 916th Air Refueling Wing deployed from Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina.
US Airmen teach Romanian airmen airfield management
Members of the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing air advisor branch provide Romanian airmen at Campia Turzii, Romania, the opportunity to learn about U.S. Air Force airfield management operations March 10 to 27 during Dacian Warhawk, a two-week training mission designed to increase the interoperability between the two nations.
