    Checkered Flag 16-1, a large-force exercise which gives a large number of legacy and fifth-generation aircraft the chance to practice combat training together, started here Dec. 10.
  • Yokota enhances capabilities through exercise

  • Linking continents through refueling

    Eight KC-10 Extenders, including two from the 32nd Air Refueling Squadron, refueled seven C-17 Globemaster IIIs over the Atlantic Ocean as they participated in the Trident Juncture exercise Nov. 3. Trident Juncture included 36,000 personnel from more than 30 nations and demonstrated NATO's increased level of capabilities in joint modern warfare.

    Airmen from the 613th Air Operations Center at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, were the nerve center for the movement of seven C-17 Globemasters carrying almost 450 U.S. Army paratroopers on a nonstop flight from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, to Royal Australian Air Force Base Amberley, Australia, July 8.
