  • Senators frustrated by uneven pace addressing privatized housing problems

    Secretary of the Air Force Barbara M. Barrett insisted to the Senate Armed Services Committee Dec. 3 that the service is moving aggressively to fix chronic problems with privatized housing while also acknowledging that the “Air Force owns part of the responsibility” for dangerous and unhealthy conditions.

    The Air Force Civil Engineer Center Installations Directorate, which manages and executes the Air Force’s housing program, established a 24-hour helpline to address concerns raised regarding the military privatized housing program.
  • NCO Bilateral Exchange: Growth through connection

    The NCO Bilateral Exchange program consists of U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army and Japan Self-Defense Force members coming together to learn and grow. The program pairs members from similar career fields, so they can learn how their counterparts operate to accomplish the missions of peaceful development, contingency response and aggression deterrence.

    The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center's PCE Division announced that it is now called TEC University, effective Nov. 1.
  • Air Force, USFWS partner to protect natural, cultural resources

    The Air Force Civil Engineer Center and USFWS kicked off a joint Conservation Law Enforcement Partnership, or CLEP, this fall, placing six USFWS conservation law enforcement officers, or CLEOs, across five Air Force installations. These officers are responsible for preserving Air Force natural and cultural resources, as well as protecting those who participate in base recreation activities.
