    Ten Air Force Reserve 433rd Training Squadron military training instructors guided four total force basic military training flights through eight and a half weeks of training and education in preparation for their Dec. 14 BMT graduation at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. It was the first time in the squadron’s 35-year history that it assumed full responsibility for BMT flights.

  • Cyber operators host cyber certification training courses for SA youth

    In mid-2016, four Air Forces Cyber operators teamed to create a free cyber certification academy for San Antonio teenagers. Master Sgt. Shaun Herron and Staff Sgts. Charles Hackett, Justin Gonzalez and Austin Ellsworth’s dream became reality when their non-profit, GhostWire Academy, was born. Today, their team of seven hosts dozens of 13- to 17-year-olds every weekend for eight- to 16-week-long preparatory courses.
  • Dover, Ramstein set standard for AMOW C-5 maintenance training

    U.S. Air Force medics joined their counterparts from the South Korean air force and army for joint training in emergency casualty care for the first time at Gimhae Hospital, Gimhae Air Base, South Korea, Nov. 28 and 29.
  • Texas, Washington Air National Guard participate in Brazilian-led international exercise

    Brazil held its multinational air combat exercise CRUZEX VII Nov. 18-30, with participation from the U.S. and six other partner nations. Guardsmen from the Texas and Washington Air National Guard joined the two-week long exercise and lent support by providing fighter and tanker aircraft as well as personnel from multiple Air Force job specialties.

    Arctic Anvil is a joint, multi-national, force-on-force training exercise that included live, virtual and constructive elements. The purpose of the training was to prepare the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team for their rotation at the Army’s National Training Center in California early next year. NTC conducts tough and realistic unified land operations to prepare brigade combat teams and other units for combat.
