Department of the Air Force restores previous military tuition assistance cap and AF COOL funding
The Department of the Air Force restored military tuition assistance to $4,500 per fiscal year and Air Force Credentialing Opportunities Online preparatory course funding for fiscal year 2021, effective immediately.

AF civilian tuition assistance increases course limits
Air Force officials have raised the course limit for civilian tuition assistance from one course per semester or quarter to two courses for fiscal year 2018.
Air Force offers tuition assistance for civil service Ph.D. candidates
Air Force officials recently approved tuition assistance funding for eligible Ph.D. candidates through the Civilian Tuition Assistance Program. Applications are due July 2, 2017 for academic programs this fall and need to include a strong justification statement explaining how the course work will benefit the Air Force mission.

During his latest CHIEFchat, Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody put to rest rumors of changes to tuition assistance. He also discussed military pay and benefits, the growing cyber domain, and master sergeant evaluation boards.
AF updates voluntary education programs for FY15
Active-duty Airmen who want to take advantage of military assistance programs for voluntary education in the coming academic year will experience several changes beginning Oct. 1.
AF tuition assistance application window delayed for FY14
Airmen applying for tuition assistance in fiscal 2014 will see several changes in both eligibility for and administration of the program. Due to these changes, the application window for classes beginning on or after Oct. 1 will not open until Sept. 9 to allow for system updates.
New tuition assistance process eliminates up-front fees
Air Force Reserve Command officials will implement a new tuition assistance payment process Oct. 1 that will eliminate up-front fees reservists pay for classes by enabling tuition payments to go directly to a university or college.
