  • Air Force National Museum’s 75th anniversary of D-Day in May, June

    On June 6, 1944, D-Day - the largest amphibious assault in history - took place as more than 150,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of heavily fortified French coast. Seventy five years later, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force will commemorate this historic feat with several events beginning in May and continuing throughout the year.

    Two 815th Airlift Squadron crews from Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi participated in a six-ship multinational airborne mission near here in the Normandy region June 4, 2017 to commemorate D-Day 73.
  • AF selects 38 Airmen for test pilot school

    Thirty-eight Airmen have been selected to attend the U.S. Air Force, U.S Naval, British, and French test pilot schools, with classes slated to begin in July 2015, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced Dec. 5.
  • U.S., British wounded warriors compete in summer competition

    Approximately 100 U.S. Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and British Armed Forces wounded warriors trained and competed in the second annual Wounded Warrior Summer Invitational Adaptive Sports Tournament at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, July 7-10.
  • First ever 'Tonnerre Lightning' refining language of war

    British, French, and U.S. Airmen wrapped up the inaugural exercise Tonnerre Lightning 14-1 here and other operating locations March 28. The tri-lateral exercise, which replicates a coalition response to a contingency operation, developed as a method for the U.S., the United Kingdom and France's air forces to strengthen their combined interoperability.
