100th surgical team completes robotic surgery training
This milestone is significant for Keesler’s InDORSE program, showing how far the curriculum has come since the program first stood up in March 2017 with just one robot. Now, InDORSE has acquired a second robot, allowing them to train more military surgical teams across the Department of Defense as well as Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center received formal approval in late October to enter the production phase for the B61-12 nuclear gravity bomb’s new guided tail-kit assembly, or TKA.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Aug. 2 in the Air Force Research Laboratory’s 711th Human Performance Wing, to celebrate the full operational capability, or FOC, of the only human-rated centrifuge in the Department of Defense.

The evolution of the Air Force Safety Center’s Airman Safety App reached an important milestone with recent software updates Dec. 1, 2017. The Air Force will deploy a small number of F-35A Lightning II joint strike fighter aircraft this weekend on a long-planned training deployment to Europe, Pentagon officials announced April 14, 2017.

The F-35 Lightning II program took another huge step forward Aug. 26 when the Air Force’s 100th F-35, designated AF-100, arrived at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, following the recent announcement of the fifth-generation jet fighter’s initial operational capability.
RQ-4B soars past 10,000 flying hours
An RQ-4B Global Hawk embarked on an Operation Inherent Resolve mission March 7, which sent the aircraft soaring past the 10,000 flying-hour milestone at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia.
Airman tops off 8,000th hour career milestone
Senior Master Sgt. Floyd W. Atkins, a 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, recently reached 8,000 refueling hours in his career, a rare feat for a boom operator.
