Taming the flames on Ramstein AB’s new F-15 mobile trainer
Twenty-two NATO firefighters from Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania and the Czech Republic were the first to train on Ramstein Air Base’s new F-15 Mobile Aircraft Fire Training asset.
Ramstein AB Airmen support Bulgarian military free-fall course during Thracian Fall 19
As a central focus of exercise Thracian Fall 19, the military free-fall course, paired members of Bulgaria’s 68th Special Forces Brigade with contracted U.S. military jumpmasters to qualify the Bulgarian jumpers on a new type of parachute.
Multinational Heavy Airlift Wing celebrates 10th anniversary
The SAC program is an initial 30-year commitment and consists of NATO members Hungary, Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and the U.S. and Partnership for Peace nations Finland and Sweden.
USAFE – AFAFRICA hosts force development event for African, European partners
The A-EPF is a security cooperation program with European and African partner nations to improve professional military knowledge and skills. This event included workshops in a variety of disciplines, including officer and enlisted development, recruitment and retention, quality of life programs, logistics and other topics.
815th Airlift Squadron delivers during Swift Response '19
For exercise Swift Response '19, military members across two continents work as a team to conduct training to increase the participating nations’ readiness, capabilities and capacity to conduct full-spectrum military operations. They use combined training which fosters trust, increases interoperability and enables allies to readily and effectively respond to regional crises and meet their own national defense goals.
European partnership flight visits Spangdahlem AB
The visit, which happened during an African-European Partnership Flight program at Ramstein AB, was a multilateral, military-to-military engagement and security cooperation event focused on sharing best practices.
F-35s forward deploy to Bulgaria
Two F-35A Lightning IIs and about 20 supporting Airmen arrived at Graf Ignatievo Air Base April 28 from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England.

On this look around the Air Force combined U.S. and South Korean forces conducted a display of airpower and Airmen in Bulgaria participated in a new joint NATO air policing operation.
Bulgaria, US commence joint air policing
The U.S. and Bulgarian air forces are conducting a joint NATO air policing mission in Bulgaria Sept. 9-16, which enables on-demand response capabilities that serve to mitigate and deter violations and infringements on Bulgarian sovereign airspace. Working alongside the Bulgarian Air Force are four F-15C Eagles from the California and Massachusetts Air National Guards, along with approximately 75 Airmen from the 194th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron.
Airmen strengthen forward capability in Bulgaria
Airmen from the 352nd Special Operations Wing supported deterrence-specific training in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in conjunction with the 74th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron Feb. 9-11.
