  • Researcher, security forces bring new counter-UAS program to Bagram Air Field

    As the use of unmanned aircraft systems rises across the world, researchers from around the Defense Department are testing new ways to counter the new threats they could present. The 455th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron teamed up with a researcher from the Air Force Research Laboratory to teach Airmen how to pilot drones and use them to train coalition forces on how to react to them on the battlefield.

  • Largest African Air Chiefs Symposium to date kicks off

    The seventh annual African Air Chiefs Symposium began in Kasane May 16, 2017. The African Air Chiefs Symposium is an annual forum for air chiefs from across the African continent to come together with the U.S. to discuss important regional and continental issues, and how African air forces can best work together to respond to challenges and create solutions. This year's symposium includes representatives from 29 nations and will focus on the training aspects of force development.

    Seven New York Air National Guard pararescuemen provided medical treatment for two injured crewmen on board a cargo ship in the mid-Atlantic April 25,after a five-hour flight and a night parachute jump into the sea.

    Over 50 senior officers and enlisted leaders from the Pacific Air Forces area of responsibility (AOR), gathered at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, April 25-27, for a three-day conference to discuss the future of warfighting in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

The F-35As are participating in their first training deployment to Europe. The aircraft and total force Airmen are from the 34th Fighter Squadron and the Air Force Reserve’s 466th Fighter Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

  • Airman provides the logistics behind Obama’s archival move

    Many former presidents have a library in their namesake, showcasing many records and artifacts from their presidency. A library in honor of President Barack Obama is scheduled to open sometime in 2021 in Chicago, where records and archives from his presidency will be on display. However, the movement of items that will be on display aren’t transferred like a typical household goods move.
  • Moody Airmen host riot training for local state troopers

    Airmen from Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, hosted Georgia State Patrol’s Mobile Field Force semiannual riot control training Nov. 16-17. The GSP used Moody’s facilities to ensure their readiness for riots while Airmen supported by participating as rioters. The training consisted of both classroom and outdoor portions.
