437th AW conducts all-female flights for Women’s History Month
The 437th Airlift Wing conducted two all-female flights to commemorate Women’s History Month at Joint Base Charleston March 15 and 17.
Palmetto Challenge trains for Total Force readiness
More than 100 Airmen from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, participated in the Palmetto Challenge, a global mobilization exercise, at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, and Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina, Nov. 16-20.
Reserve & Active Airmen team up at Palmetto Challenge
Airmen trained on “real world” scenarios that could happen in a deployed environment when provided limited resources. For exercise purposes, there were two “deployed” locations, one at Pope AAF and the other at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina.
Charleston reservists deliver humanitarian aid, met by Colombian President, VP
A group of reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, delivered humanitarian aid Friday, Feb. 22, which will benefit the people of Venezuela.
JB Charleston evacuates aircraft, maintains airlift capabilities
Joint Base Charleston personnel assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing and 628th Air Base Wing began evacuation flights for 24 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft Sept. 11, 2018, in anticipation of Hurricane Florence making landfall. The aircraft and supporting personnel planned and executed flights from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina to three designated safe locations within 48 hours of notification, a move designed to sustain the wing’s airlift capability.

The 437th Airlift Wing launched 17 C-17 Globemaster IIIs in support of the largest U.S. Air Force Weapons School Integration Phase Joint Forcible Entry event in its history, Dec. 9, 2017.
Mobility aircraft deliver U.S. Navy’s undersea rescue capabilities to Argentina
Two C-17 Globemaster IIIs and a C-5M Super Galaxy delivered U.S. Navy’s undersea rescue capabilities to Argentina to aid in the search for the ARA San Juan, an Argentine navy submarine that went missing in the southern Atlantic Ocean Nov. 15, 2017.
Innovation saves AMC $2 million annually
The 437th Airlift Wing began modifying the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft with new mounts for the Electronic Flight Bag Sept. 25, 2017. The new mounts will increase flight safety in C-17s and are estimated to save Air Mobility Command $2 million in repairs annually.
