  • 388th Fighter Wing focuses on F-35A operational capabilities, mission readiness

    Over the summer, all three squadrons — nearly 70 F-35A aircraft — were operating away from home station. They conducted operations in nine different countries on three separate continents, while supporting multiple combatant commanders. One squadron supported a European Theater Support Package, another squadron conducted off-station operations at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, while Hill AFB’s runway was under construction and one squadron is currently conducting the first F-35A combat deployment.

    Sixteenth Air Force activated at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Oct. 11, integrating Twenty-Fourth Air Force, to include Air Forces Cyber, and Twenty-Fifth Air Force into a single headquarters that will provide global intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyber, electronic warfare and information operations.

    The 15 best swimmers in the Department of Defense have earned the opportunity to compete in the swimming component of the 2019 World Military Games. The youngest team member is Airman 1st Class Michael Yoo, 366th Maintenance Squadron avionics backshop technician, from Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.
  • 380 AEW first responders exercise readiness, interoperability

    A variety of agencies including medics, firefighters and security-forces defenders participated in the exercise to test their readiness, knowledge of emergency procedures and interagency cooperation amongst the wing’s first responders.
  • 548th ISRG, 9th SFS partner with Hivemapper program to utilize drone capabilities

    Beale AFB is currently the first base to beta-test the Hivemapper program, an artificial drone capability that records and senses change detection, as a way to save time and manpower, while improving security and operational risk measures for the installation.

  • Mountain Home AFB Airmen train Chilean airmen, strengthen strategic relationships

    Tech. Sgt. Ian Messer and Tech. Sgt. Edgar Ayala, both 366th Maintenance Squadron aerospace propulsion craftsmen at Mountain Home Air Force Base, recently spent a month-long temporary duty at Cerro Moreno Air Base in Antofagasta, Chile. Their mission was to train the Chilean airmen to save money, time and manpower through hands-on training on jet engine fan blade repairs for the F100-Pratt and Whitney-W-220 jet engines.
