Ellsworth AFB B-1s integrate with allies, partners in Nordic region
The nonstop mission to the Nordic region – made possible with support from a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 100th Air Refueling Wing, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom, and a Dutch KDC-10 from the 334th Squadron, Royal Netherlands Air Force’s Eindhoven Air Base, Netherlands – spanned more than 23 hours.
USAF Stratotankers provide air refueling capabilities for exercise Cold Response 20
Cold Response is a Norwegian national readiness and defense exercise, with participation from each of Norway’s military services, as well as eight additional NATO allied nations and regional partners. The U.S. Air Force’s KC-135R Stratotankers extend missions by providing aerial refueling for U.S., ally and partner aircraft.
ENJJPT molds international guardians of freedom
Since 1981, the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program has played a significant role in NATO-wide pilot production. Comprised of 14 signatory nations, 13 of which are currently participating, it is one of four undergraduate pilot training programs in the Air Force.
Multinational Heavy Airlift Wing celebrates 10th anniversary
The SAC program is an initial 30-year commitment and consists of NATO members Hungary, Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and the U.S. and Partnership for Peace nations Finland and Sweden.

Edwards AFB squadron completes Joint Strike Missile test program
A team of U.S. Air Force engineers, test pilots, and Norwegian government and industry personnel recently completed a large phase of testing for the Joint Strike Missile. The JSM is Norway’s advanced anti-surface warfare missile designed for the new F-35A Lighting II’s internal weapons bay. The missile can be employed against sea- and land-based targets. Norway is a partner nation in the development of the fifth-generation Joint Strike Fighter.
Wilson, Goldfein emphasize need for FY18 budget in State of the Air Force address
The Air Force must have a higher and more stable budget to provide security for the nation, said Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein during the State of the Air Force address Nov. 9, 2017, at the Pentagon.
U.S. Strategic Command, Norway sign agreement to share space services, data
U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) entered into an agreement with the Norwegian Ministry of Defense and Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries to share space situational awareness (SSA) services and information.

Norwegian F-35 flies for first time under Norwegian command
Maj. Morten Hanche, a Royal Norwegian Air Force F-35 Lightning II student pilot training with the 62nd Fighter Squadron, flew the first Norwegian F-35 sortie here Dec. 14. Hanche has been training at Luke Air Force Base under the instruction of American pilots for the past several months in order to become Norway's first F-35 pilot and instructor.

The first two Norwegian F-35s arrived here Nov. 10. Shortly after, a Norwegian pilot flew the F-35 Lightning II for the first time, in conjunction with the Royal Norwegian Air Force's birthday.
