Nellis was one of five DoD bases named to host the new 5G technology provided by industry partner AT&T. The implementation of the updated system will further the development of 5G communications technology aimed to provide advancements in multiple capacities, including speed, connectivity and reduced latency. Air Force recruiting continues to find ways to work around COVID-19
Due to COVID-19 limiting opportunities to take the traditional Air Force Officer Qualifying Test, Air Force Recruiting Service and the Air Force Personnel Center’s strategic research and assessments branch, collaborated to create the first electronic version of the traditional AFOQT. The eAFOQT is not replacing current testing but is another tool for the recruiters to use when processing officer applicants. The eAFOQT is a beta test at this time specific for the regular Air Force that became available Sept. 14, 2020. (Courtesy graphic)

SECAF unveils new “eSeries” classification in nod to department’s digital future
Secretary of the Air Force Barbara Barrett announced a new weapons system designator, the “e” series, at the Air Force Association Air, Space and Cyber Conference, Arlington, Va., Sept. 14, 2020.
