The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center recently released its updated strategy, adding a new focus area and synchronizing efforts across the center to enable better delivery of combat power and installation support.

“Our installations are the vital power projection platforms that enable our forces and weapons systems to fight from anywhere in the world,” said Maj. Gen. John Allen, AFIMSC commander, in the plan forward. “Throughout this update to our strategic plan, we outline what we’re doing to support Airmen, Guardians and the installations they fight from to ensure we’re able to fly, fight and win.”

The new major focus area, or line of effort, added for 2023 is “Amplify Warfighter Culture.” The LOE aims to educate and train installation and mission support Airmen about their roles in long-term strategic power competitions and the part their missions play in ensuring U.S. success.

“Through the goals and objectives we’re pursuing for LOE 4 (Amplify Warfighter Culture), our global team will better understand how AFIMSC supports warfighters’ needs and counters adversary threats, now and in the future,” said Col. Kelly Sams, AFIMSC vice commander.

In addition to the new LOE, the strategy includes updated goals and objectives that directly link to the National Defense Strategy, Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall’s Operational Imperatives, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr.’s Accelerate Change or Lose initiative, and the Air Force Materiel Command’s strategic lines of effort.

“Our work today is more important than ever with the nation facing growing competition from China, as it continues to develop and field advanced capabilities that threaten our country’s strategic interests and values,” Allen said. I’m confident this strategy will continue to guide our operations as we conduct our diverse missions across the Department of the Air Force in lock step with our national priorities.

“I’m looking forward to a successful year ahead and send the AFIMSC team’s thanks to our Air Force and Space Force customers for their partnership in our collaborative mission operations.”
