The Air Force met its active-duty enlisted recruiting goal for the 14th year in a row, and its chaplain, lines officer and health professions accession goals for fiscal 2013.

The Air Force continues to recruit the highest quality applicants with nearly 98 percent of recruits in the Delayed Entry Program scoring at or above the 50th percentile on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, or ASVAB.

From October 2012 through September 2013, the Air Force brought in 26,022 new enlistees and 253 prior-service members. Additionally, the Air Force brought in 32 chaplains, 847 line officers and 736 health professionals.  

Special Operations Airmen, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, linguists and fully qualified physicians were the most high-demand Air Force career fields in fiscal 2013.
