Eglin Airmen go to war with stumps, trees
SHALIMAR, Fla. -- Tech. Sgt. James Trefurt levels the ground where a stump was removed. The tree fell on the side of a house at Bob Hope Village here. He and other instructors with the 96th Ground Combat Training Squadron at nearby Eglin Air Force Base cut up fallen trees and pulled 18 stumps, saving the village more than $2,000. Hurricane Ivan downed hundreds of trees on the property and caused more than $300,000 in damage. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Mike Meares)
