Must have More Blood
Tech. Sgt. Tricia Carnes (right) hands a bottle to Staff Sgt. Kevin Davis, (moulage artist) as he creates a simulated compound fracture on Staff Sgt. Nomer Evangelista during a proficiency training session on Mar. 23, 2010 at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. Sergeants Carnes, Evangelista and Davis are the 28th Medical Support Squadron’s NCOICs Medical Readiness and Pharmacy Automation and Assistant NCOIC Resource Management. On Carnes' arm is petroleum jelly and tissue paper, which will become a burn blister and damaged skin. Readiness training at the 28th Medical Support Squadron uses industry leading moulage skills, techniques and education to keep their mass casualty exercises as realistic as possible. A variety of household and theatrical products, and specialized devices keep burns, blisters, bruises and shrapnel fresh and in their place. (U.S. Air Force photo/Lance Cheung)
